NEW YORK — CNN has named Scott T. Weller to the newly created post of senior VP and national sales manager, while Stephen L. Pollack has been promoted to VP and Western regional sales manager.

In his new position, Weller will manage CNN’s national sales offices. He will report to Greg D’Alba, exec VP of sales and marketing.

As VP and Western regional sales manager, Pollack will oversee CNN’s Western sales efforts and report to Weller.

Brand integration sought

“Scott’s promotion rewards his outstanding efforts in driving CNN’s ad sales revenue throughout the Western region,” said Larry Goodman, president of CNN sales and marketing. “His new responsibilities over all of our national sales offices will help drive CNN brand integration. The addition of Stephen’s sales expertise to the CNN sales team will ensure that the positive momentum we’ve experienced in that region continues.”

Previously, Weller was VP and Western regional sales manager for CNN. He joined the news cabler as a sales planner in 1987. He also worked briefly as a sales manager for Turner Sports Sales.

Pollack was formerly VP of Cartoon Network’s Western sales and marketing. Before that, Pollack was the manager of Western regional sales for the Outdoor Life Network and worked in sports marketing for the National Fitness Foundation.
