SINGAPORE — Carsey-Werner Intl. has sealed two deals in Asia, one with Star TV’s Star World and the other with Taiwan, a first in the company’s history.
Rajiv Dhawn, VP in CWI’s Asian office, has sold “That ’70s Show” to Star World, Rupert Murdoch’s Hong Kong-based satellite channel.
Taiwanese broadcasters have picked up “Cosby,” “3rd Rock From the Sun” and “Damon.” And business with Malaysia has increased by 50%.
“In the last couple of months in 1998, we decided we needed to become more positive about the Asian market,” Herb Lazarus, president of C-W Intl., said.
