HOLLYWOOD — Now that Janice Marinelli has settled into the role of topper at Buena Vista Television, the company has upped Tom Cerio to fill the role of exec VP of sales made vacant by Marinelli’s promotion.
In his new role, Cerio will oversee BVTV’s entire sales force, including four regional sales offices, their sales staffs and activities throughout the U.S.
After joining BVTV in 1990, his responsibilities now include supervising all sales in broadcast syndication, basic cable and domestic Pay TV.
“Tom has an extraordinary relationship in the marketplace, both with stations and competitors alike,” Marinelli said. “He’s not only an outstanding professional, but an outstanding individual as well.”
Cerio moves up from senior VP and general sales manager of BVTV’s Eastern division. While there, he helped sell upcoming talker “The Ainsley Harriott Show” to the NBC O&Os. Cerio was also responsible for selling “Win Ben Stein’s Money” and “Make Me Laugh” to Comedy Central.
