Richard Atkinson has been upped to chief financial officer and executive VP of Time. He succeeds Joseph A. Ripp, who was recently named chief financial officer and exec veep of Time Warner.
Most recently president of Time, Atlantic, Atkinson was responsible for all magazine publishing activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He started his career there in 1991 as finance director and moved up to VP of consumer marketing.
“Richard’s astute financial skills, his instinctive knowledge of publishing and his candor make him the ideal candidate for this position,” said Time chairman and CEO Don Logan.
