‘Time & Again’ ups Franklin

Biz vet to exec produce

Andrew Franklin is being upped to executive producer of MSNBC’s “Time & Again,” the all-news cabler is expected to announce today.

Franklin, who had been senior producer of the Jane Pauley-anchored nightly retronews series since its July 1996 premiere, replaces Bob Mayer, who ankled MSNBC earlier this year to develop “In Profile,” a new “Biography” clone in the works at CNBC.

“Andy has been critical to the launch and ongoing success of one of MSNBC’s most popular programs,” MSNBC veep and general manager Erik Sorenson said in a statement.

Before joining MSNBC in 1996, Franklin spent 11 years at “NBC Nightly News With Tom Brokaw” as a writer, news editor and producer. He’s been with NBC News since 1976.
