Comic joins Goldberg on revival
NEW YORK — For comic Caroline Rhea (“Sabrina, the Teenage Witch”), it’s hip to be square — a “Hollywood Square,” that is.
The actress has signed on to be a regular celebrity square on King World’s upcoming syndie revival of the classic gameshow, which bows next month. Rhea will appear during 26 weeks of the show’s first 32-week season of original episodes.
Rhea will continue to be a regular on ABC’s “Sabrina,” playing one of Sabrina’s aunts. The actress’s previous TV credits include a stint in the short-lived 1995 NBC sitcom “Pride & Joy.”
The new “Hollywood Squares” will be hosted by former “Fox After Breakfast” host Tom Bergeron, with Whoopi Goldberg committed to the show’s center square. Other regular celeb squares are expected to be announced shortly.
