Playboy seeks key for 2 pay channels

Company awaits OK from German authorities

BERLIN — Playboy Enterprises has applied for a license to launch two digital pay-TV channels in Germany.

Playboy may begin broadcasting to pay-TV households by the end of the year. The content of channels must first be ap-proved by Germany’s youth protection authorities.

It is not known whether the Playboy channels will join the platform of Hamburg-based pay-TV web Premiere or Leo Kirch’s DF1 digital pay-TV service.
