Good answer!? Pearson Television says it’s time, again, for “Family Feud.”
Pearson aims to bring the long-running gameshow back as a syndie strip next year with comic Louie Anderson as host. Pearson will pitch the show to station buyers as a companion to its syndie revival of “Match Game,” which bows later this month.
Pearson TV, the U.S. TV arm of the British media conglom, inherited the rights to the voluminous Mark Goodson Prods. gameshow library with its purchase last year of syndie distrib All American Communications.
“Family Feud” first bowed in 1976 as part of ABC’s daytime slate, where it stayed for nine years. CBS brought the show back to daytime from 1988-93. It also ran simultaneously in syndication from 1977-85 and from 1988 through 1993.
