PAX TV races into Indianapolis

B'caster puts Indy station on affil map

Paxson Communications Corp. announced Thursday that it has inked a deal to turn Indianapolis’ WIIB TV-63 into an affiliate to air its new PAX TV family network.

Indianapolis is the nation’s 25th largest television market, containing more than 957,000 U.S. television households.

When the deal goes into affect Aug. 31, the station’s call letters will change to WIPX TV-63, reflecting the station’s PAX TV programming format.

Including this and all other pending transactions, PAX TV will broadcast via a total of 88 television stations in markets that contain more than 74 million U.S. television households, including stations in all of the top 20 U.S. television markets as well as 43 of the nation’s top 50 markets.
