Panamort inks Harris comedy

Web site leads to series for Breakupgirl

Panamort Television has inked a deal with Lynn Harris to develop a half-hour comedy series based on Harris’ Web site, http://www.breakupgirl.com.

Although no TV network is attached to the project, under Panamort’s deal with ABC-affiliated Greengrass Prods., ABC will have first look at the new comedy series.

The 10-month old Breakupgirl Web site, which receives more than 36,000 hits a month, explores the trials and tribulations of dating as seen through the eyes of a young woman who dispenses relationship advice over the Internet. Her superhero alter ego “Breakupgirl” is named for a character that appeared in Harris’ book “He Loved Me, He Loves Me Not.”

Panamort is headed by former “Late Show with David Letterman” producer Robert Morton.
