Newman expected to replace Gibson

Alphabet to give GMA to get a facelift

NEW YORK — After months of speculation, ABC News is expected to announce today that Kevin Newman will replace Charlie Gibson as co-host of “Good Morning America.”

The Alphabet net had no official comment Tuesday, but Newman, GMA’s newsreader, was considered the front-runner for the on-air post, after edging ahead of former “Fox After Breakfast” host Tom Bergeron.

Gibson is expected to make a move to A&E’s “Biography.”
