Addition of thesp helps show's chances of pickup
Rob Morrow has been cast opposite Heather Burns in the NBC midseason pilot “Nearly Yours.”
DreamWorks is producing the pilot, along with Three Sisters Entertainment. Tom Leopold is executive producing and James Burrows (“Friends,” “Frasier,” “Cheers”) directs.
The pilot has been in development at NBC for more than a year, but DreamWorks and the network were unable to cast it until now. The addition of Morrow will likely help its chances of getting picked up for midseason.
The actor will star as Jim Clifford, a once-savvy attorney whose personal and professional life is quickly falling apart. Burns plays his temp, who comes to his rescue.
Morrow is best known for his starring role as Dr. Joel Fleischman in the quirky “Northern Exposure,” which earned him two Emmy nominations for lead actor in a drama series. He also starred in the films “Quiz Show,” “Last Dance,” “Mother” and the upcoming “Into My Heart.”
Most recently, he starred opposite Marisa Tomei in the network miniseries “Only Love” and the cable telefilm “The Day Lincoln Was Shot.”
Morrow was repped by Marc Schwartz at the William Morris Agency and manager Judy Hofflund.
