Midler midseason misses

Star sitcom talks officially dead, sources say

Talks for Bette Midler to star in her own midseason sitcom for ABC are officially dead, sources at the web said. While Midler and ABC were close to reaching an agreement on a series, the production company Carsey-Werner never struck a deal with the actress. A Carsey-Werner spokesman said he’s still hopeful the star will decide to pursue a TV series, but it won’t be anytime this season or at ABC.
