Marianne Clarkson dies at 49

TV writer and story editor

Marianne Clarkson, a TV staff writer and story editor, died Jan. 16 following a brief illness. She was 49.

Clarkson won the 1984 Intl. Film & TV Festival of New York award for her “Hardcastle & McCormick” episode, “Pennies From a Dead Man’s Eyes.” She had completed a novel titled “Get Right With God, See Rock City.”

Clarkson’s credits also included multiple episodes of “Hunter,” “Downtown” and “MacGyver.”

She is survived by her mother, Katherine Clarkson.
