Howie Mandel steps into the daytime TV spotlight today with the launch of his new syndie talk-variety show.
Among the celebs turning out for Mandel’s first week of shows are Jennifer Aniston, Paul Reiser, Arsenio Hall, Ted Danson, Dennis Miller, Tyra Banks and R&B sensation Usher.
The Paramount-distributed “Howie Mandel Show,” exec produced by Mandel, Joachim Blunck and Michael Rotenberg, is cleared in more than 170 markets covering 95% of U.S. TV households. Locally, the show will air at 4 p.m. on KCBS.
Mandel, who landed his talkshow gig after a well-received guest-hosting stint last year on ayem chatshow “Live With Regis & Kathie Lee,” is tanned, rested and ready to join the daytime yak-pack.
“I really want to do a traditional talkshow in a traditional setting,” Mandel told Daily Variety last week. “We’re not going to have too many weird bells and whistles on this show. I have a desk, I have a band, and now it’s up to me and this (production) team to make it work.”
