Lifetime has ‘Baby’ on way

Orders pilot from CTTD; Casting underway

NEW YORK — Columbia TriStar TV Distribution will produce the pilot of a sitcom for Lifetime called “Oh, Baby.”

Although CTTD and Lifetime declined to comment, one source said the half-hour pilot is about a single woman who becomes pregnant through in-vitro fertilization. Casting is under way.

CTTD also is producing a one-hour drama pilot for Lifetime called “West Wing,” being filmed in Toronto, about two friends from college who end up as adult antagonists when one of them becomes an assistant press secretary to the President and the other gets to be a newswoman at a D.C. TV station.

In addition to “Oh, Baby,” Lifetime will give the nod to a second sitcom pilot, still to be determined, and give the better of the two a 13-seg deal.
