The Kushner-Locke Co. has formed a joint venture with Enrique Cerezo to launch Gran Canal Latino, a movie satellite channel for Latin America and Spanish-speaking markets in the United States.
Cerezo has holdings that include one of the largest Spanish-language libraries in the world, as well as Spanish video distribution, cable television and feature film production, theatrical distribution and exhibition companies.
With a November launch in its sights, the new channel will distribute Spanish-language movies, the bulk of which will come from Cerezo’s extensive library of classic and new feature film titles. Cerezo’s library will be available to Free TV throughout Latin America and the United States.
Through the partnership, Kushner-Locke will provide financing for the channel and will share in the receipts with Cerezo after recouping K-L’s initial investments.
