Fox has announced its upcoming summer schedule, which includes a primetime newsmagazine called “Fox Files” hosted by Fox News Channel’s Catherine Crier and Jon Scott.
The hour-long newsmag, which is limited to a summer run, debuts Thursday July 16 at 9 p.m. Fox also will air a new hour-long reality series called “Guinness World Records: Primetime,” starting Tuesday July 28 at 9 p.m.
“Melrose Place” returns this summer with original episodes starting Monday July 27 at 8 p.m., with actress Josie Bissett rejoining the series Aug. 17.
Fox will also air back-to-back episodes of “King of the Hill” at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting July 28 to prep viewers for the biggest move on Fox’s schedule when originals return this fall. Filling its slots on Sundays at 8:30 p.m. is an extra episode of “The Simpsons.”
Fox will debut a Wednesday-night movie from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. this summer, featuring “Disaster at the Mall” on July 29 and Dean Koontz’s “Hideaway” July 8.
A couple of original episodes of “Damon” and “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction” will be peppered in with repeats in July, while original “Cops” and “America’s Most Wanted” will run throughout the summer.
“Getting Personal” will move to its Friday 8 p.m. slot, with originals airing July 31, Aug. 7 and Aug. 14, followed by repeats at 8:30 p.m. In total, 42% of Fox’s summer sked will be original programming.
