Film Roman to animate WB skein

Castle Rock producing series

Film Roman has inked a deal with Castle Rock Entertainment to produce the animation for “The Downtowners,” a half-hour strip skedded to debut on the WB netlet fall of 1999.

The web has placed an initial order for 13 episodes of the series, which focuses on the lives of twenty-somethings and teens.

Bill Oakely and Josh Weinstein (“The Simpsons”) created the show and serve as executive producers. Lauren MacMullan is supervising director. Colin Lewis produces, and Mike Wolf has been set as animation producer for Film Roman.
