“Seinfeld” fans across the nation will be asked to vote for the all-time top-10 episodes of the sitcom in a poll conducted by Columbia TriStar Television Distribution (CTTD) in conjunction with the 230 affils carrying the sitcom in syndication.
The favorites will be announced April 16 and will air, from No. 10 to No. 1, in national syndication during May sweeps. The votes will come from a toll-free number, radio call-ins and the internet.
This being the last season for Seinfeld on NBC, CTTD has created the promotion to increase viewer awareness that syndication will be the only place left where fans can still watch the top-ranked sitcom.
In addition, also as part of May sweeps, seven “Seinfeld” episodes never broadcast in syndication will air beginning April 27. Also, affiliates will air the one hour-long episode “The Boyfriend,” debuting for the first time in syndication as a one-hour telecast.
