In an effort to reach more Hispanic viewers, CBS plans to offer a Spanish-lingo simulcast of its new Ann-Margret drama series “Four Corners,” set for a two-hour premiere Feb. 24.
The move is believed to be a first for a primetime entertainment series. CBS launched a Spanish-lingo simulcast of “60 Minutes” last month, although some TV stations and many older TV sets are not technologically equipped to send and receive the secondary Spanish-lingo audio track.
“Four Corners,” a sweeping family saga set in the Southwest, also stars Sonia Braga and two other actors of Hispanic descent. Among the CBS O&Os and affils set to offer the Spanish simulcast are KCBS Los Angeles, KTVT Dallas, KHOU Houston and WFOR Miami.
