Ratings superiority lasts one week

NEW YORK — Twentieth TV’s bragging rights for “Access Hollywood” — viz., the show’s victory over Paramount’s “Entertainment Tonight” in N.Y., Los Angeles and Chicago on March 24, the day after the Oscar telecast — lasted just one news cycle.

Paramount has weighed in with an even bigger boast: In the 38 Nielsen-metered markets on March 24, “Entertainment Tonight” harvested an 8.5 rating and 17 share compared to the 4.7 and 12 share collected by “Access Hollywood.”
