Col TV inks deal with Mac

Comedian to star in, produce own show

Columbia TriStar Television has inked a one-year development deal with actor/comedian Bernie Mac.

As part of the deal, Mac will produce and star in his own half-hour sitcom for the fall 1999 season. The show will be produced by Elephant Walk Entertainment with Mac and Elephant Walk partners Steven Greener, Rob Lee and Doug McHenry executive producing.

Mac will next be seen with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence in Universal’s “Life.” He has also appeared in “The Player’s Club,” “Friday,” “Above the Rim” and “Get on the Bus.” His television credits include the HBO telepic “Only in America: The Don King Story” and a recurring role on “Moesha.”

Mac was repped by William Morris’ Jenny Delaney and manager Steven Greener of Elephant Walk Entertainment.
