Lead-in from 'Final Four' to deliver viewers
NEW YORK — In an effort to give a bounce to its sinking new sitcom “The Closer,” CBS has scheduled a special episode of the Tom Selleck vehicle to be broadcast on Saturday, March 28, at 10:30 p.m., following the network’s coverage of the NCAA Basketball Championship “Final Four” doubleheader.
CBS promoted midseason replacement “The Closer” very heavily during its Winter Olympics coverage, and the show premiered to fairly strong ratings. But the show has faltered in the last few weeks. On Monday, March 16, the series posted a 7.8 household rating/12 share, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The regular time period for “The Closer” is Monday from 9-9:30 p.m.
