CBS is launching the hour-long midseason reality series “Unsolved Mysteries” Friday, April 3 at 9 p.m. in place of the Eye web’s Friday sitcoms.
The series was picked up by the Eye web after NBC canceled it at the end of last season. “Unsolved Mysteries” will follow “Kids Say the Darndest Things” and “Candid Camera,” making it an all-reality block from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Given the five episodes of “Unsolved Mysteries” slated to air and the frequent Friday schedule stunting during the May sweeps, sources said sitcoms “The Gregory Hines Show,” “Step by Step” and “Family Matters” are unlikely to return to the schedule this season.
Separately, NBC also has officially pulled its sitcom “The Naked Truth” for the rest of the TV season. Original episodes of the show will be burned off over the summer.
