Paramount Domestic TV has inked a long-term renewal of “Entertainment Tonight” with CBS O&Os in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and five other markets.
Par’s stalwart syndie strip will continue churning out showbiz news and celebrity dish in prime access timeslots on the CBS O&Os through 2003. The deal signals the CBS O&Os’ eagerness to hang onto “ET” well into the future — the CBS stations in question struck a three-year renewal deal for the top-rated entertainment magazine just last year.
“These deals reflect our confidence in ‘Entertainment Tonight’ as a long-term player in the very competitive access marketplace,” said John Nogawski, exec VP and general sales manager of Paramount Domestic TV. The other CBS stations reupping “ET” are KYW Philadelphia, WBZ Boston, WFOR Miami, WJZ Baltimore and KUTV Salt Lake City.
