MIAMI — Si TV has teamed up with Baruch Entertainment to launch its English-lingo, Hispanic-targeted talker “Cafe Ole With Giselle Fernandez” into syndication.
Hosted by “Access Hollywood” star Fernandez, “Cafe” since last year has been a top draw for the predominantly Spanish-lingo cable network Galavision, owned by broadcaster Univision.
Baruch also plans to syndicate another Si TV show, the Carlos Mencia-hosted stand-up forum “Funny is Funny!”
Baruch prez Ed Baruch expects to find considerable syndie interest from English-lingo stations for the two shows, and “Cafe” has already cleared in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, the top three Hispanic markets.
“Cafe” and “Funny” were both launched in November as the first anglophone shows on Hispanic TV in a Sunday evening block on Galavision, the top U.S. Spanish-lingo cabler with 8.7 million homes.
Galavision last month renewed “Funny” for a second 26-week season.
