Brokaw to host WWII spec for NBC

He'll team with exec producer Leake on project

NEW YORK — The Peacock news division will produce a Tom Brokaw-hosted primetime special profiling the lives and legacies of the generation of Americans that came of age during World War II.

Exec producer for the hourlong report, “The Greatest Generation That Ever Lived,” is Craig Leake, who paired with Brokaw last year to produce an award-winning special on race relations.

“This is a generation that won a brutal war and saved a country they believed in,” Brokaw said. “Their primary characteristic might be described in one word — sacrifice.”

The special is expected to air next fall.
