Badiyi direct to TV record

Helmer reaches DGA pinnacle 400 TV eps

Director Reza Badiyi reaches a Directors Guild of America milestone this week in helming his 400th episodic TV project: an edition of the Sci-Fi Channel (formerly Fox) drama “Sliders.”

No director has ever worked as many hours of TV as Badiyi, according to the DGA. Badiyi’s previous small-screen work includes segs of “Baywatch,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Knots Landing,” “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” and “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.”

The new season of “Sliders” — its first set of originals for Sci-Fi Channel — premieres June 8.
