‘Access’ tops ‘ET’ in big burgs

L.A., Chi, Gotham all wanted 'Access'

NEW YORK — In post-Oscar bragging rights, syndicated TV magazine category, NBC and Twentieth TV’s “Access Hollywood” beat Paramount’s “Entertainment Tonight” head-to-head on Tuesday in N.Y., L.A. and Chi.

The 8.5 rating, 13 share, for “Access Hollywood” on WNBC New York ended up as the highest overnight rating in Gotham since the series kicked off in September 1996. “ET” managed only a 6.3 and 10 share on WCBS N.Y.

In Los Angeles, the KNBC run of “Access” harvested an 8.4/13, beating KCBS’ “ET” by 14% in the rating.

“Access” on WMAQ Chicago got a 4.7/8, edging out “ET” on WBBM, which hit a 4.4/8.
