ABC getting its ‘Man’ from Kellison

Alphabet orders pilot for sketch comedy/variety show

With an eye on the “South Park” demographic, ABC has ordered a pilot for a sketch comedy/variety show tentatively dubbed “The Man Show.”

The “unapologetically” over-the-top hour celebrating and skewering all things male is hosted by Gen-X wisecrackers Adam Carrolla of MTV’s “Loveline” and Jimmy Kimmel, the quick-witted question-reader on Comedy Central’s quiz show “Win Ben Stein’s Money.” Spearheading the project, along with Lapides Entertainment and Stone Stanley Prods., is Daniel Kellison, late of “Vibe,” “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” and “Late Show With David Letterman.”

It’s unclear if the show is being developed as a regularly skedded series or as a series of specials. Word is that Kellison has attracted the interest of a few former co-workers from Letterman’s NBC and CBS series, but no formal deals have been inked.
