TORONTO — A&E Network announced Tuesday that it has inked deals with four Canadian production companies for five documentaries to air on the cabler starting in July.
Toronto based MicroTainment Plus Intl. is producing “Cartier: From Jeweler to the Kings to the King of Jewelers” on the House of Cartier for its “Biography” series and “Peace, Love and Murder,” the story of U.S. ’60s cultural revolutionary and suspected murderer Ira Einhorn, to air as part of its “Investigative Reports” series.
“Peace Love and Murder” is completed and delivered for a July airdate and “Cartier” is now lensing.

Montreal based Verseau Intl. will co-produce with Canal D “Cults and New Religions,” a two hour docu investigating religious sects and cults in the Western world, to air on A&E as a “Special Presentation.”
Mansion Prods. will produce a sequel to the 1996 docu “Haunted Houses,” executive produced by Amanda Enright of AJE Prods. and Ian McLeod of Ground Floor Prods.
And High Road Prods. will produce a cinema verite documentary, the title and subject of which have yet to be announced. The co production with TV Ontario will air on the two networks as a “Special Presentation” in the fall.
All five projects will be produced in Canada with financial and creative support from A&E.
