Col TriStar TV fetes golden anni, season
Screen gems: Columbia TriStar TV toasted its golden anni in the TV biz and the launch of the new season Sept. 17 with a soiree at the studio that drew a capacity crowd.
The neon accouterments of the Sony Pictures lot cast a festive light on partygoers, who schmoozed and mugged for the cameras while an R&B band honked away on a small stage set up on the end of the main walkway.
Stars from Columbia’s TV past and present were out in force, including blonds-of-their-moment Barbara Eden of “I Dream of Jeannie,” fame and Pamela Anderson Lee of Col TriStar’s upcoming syndie actioner “V.I.P.” Also in attendance were “The Nanny’s” Fran Drescher, newly minted talkmeisters Donny & Marie Osmond, the much-honored Helen Hunt of “Mad About You,” and Kevin James, star of the studio’s new CBS comedy “King of Queens.”
Also celebrating the start of the new fall season Saturday was Warner Bros. TV with “Hyperion Bay” cast members, Christa Miller and Drew Carey of the “Drew Carey Show” and execs Tony Jonas and Gary Levine in attendance.
