New smooth moves from White House

Glover hosting hourlong special

WASHINGTON — Tap dancing in the White House? No, it’s not the chief executive evading those nagging personal problems but smooth-stepping Savion Glover. He’s hosting PBS’ “Savion Glover — Stomp, Slide & Swing: In Performance at the White House,” a toe-tapping hourlong special taped in March that debuts Sept. 16.

There’s a whole lot of dancing going on besides tap, like Irish step dancing (Donny Golden and Sinead Lawler), the Lindy hop and jazz dancing, along with Bebe Neuwirth performing a special Bob Fosse tribute that includes two numbers from the hit Broadway musical “Chicago.”
