15th annual kudofest skedded for Sept. 10 in L.A.

NEW YORK — Actor/director Ben Stiller will host the 15th annual “MTV Video Music Awards,” which will be broadcast live from the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. (ET).

In addition, MTV announced that this year’s “VMAs” will feature Brandy and Monica performing “The Boy Is Mine,” making it the first time the two will perform their hit together publicly.

Also, the Backstreet Boys have been locked in to perform.

Previously announced performers include Madonna, Hole, Beastie Boys, Master P and Dave Matthews Band.

Stiller can currently be seen in Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s hit comedy “There’s Something About Mary.”

The “MTV Video Music Awards” usually rank as the music web’s most watched show of the year.

Last year, comedian Chris Rock hosted the show from Radio City Music Hall.

This year’s awards will be produced by Carol Donovan and directed by Beth McCarthy. Salli Frattina will be the executive producer.
