Star’s Ch. V heads for CIS

Music chan to be b'cast on Alma, Kamalak TV

HONG KONG — News Corp.’s Star TV has signed a deal to launch its Channel V music service in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The 24-hour music channel will go out on Alma TV in Kazakhstan and Kamalak TV in Tashkent. Together, the outlets reach 50,000 homes.

“This is a momentous partnership for Channel V, expanding its audience reach beyond Asia and into homes across the CIS,” said Charles Pollard, Star’s regional director for Southeast Asia.
