‘Last Empress’ will rule at the Shubert

Korean musical skedded for 29-perf run

The Korean musical “The Last Empress,” which is currently in a return engagement at Lincoln Center after an acclaimed first run, is coming to L.A.’s Shubert Theater for 29 performances.

Tuner, based on the life of Min, the last empress of the Lee Dynasty of Korea, is being mounted by the A-Com theater company of Seoul. It boasts a cast of 80 and over 600 costumes.

The Shubert engangement runs Sept. 13-Oct. 4. It is performed in Korean with English supertitles.
