Winterbottom lenses new pic

'Untitled Love Story' to showcase rising Brit talent

LONDON — Michael Winterbottom is starting principal photography today on his latest pic, currently untitled, with backing from Polygram Filmed Entertainment and BBC Films.

The low-budget pic, formerly titled “Snarl Up” and currently known only as “Untitled Love Story,” features a strong ensemble cast of rising Brit thesps including Ian Hart, Stuart Townsend, Gina McKee, Molly Parker, Shirley Henderson and Jack Shepherd.

Written by London-based French scribe Laurence Coriat, it’s described as an intimate portrait of a family over one weekend in south London. The film is co-produced by Michele Camarda of Kismet Film Co. and Andrew Eaton of Revolution Films.

This is the third film to be made under Revolution’s six-pic deal with PFE, following Marc Evans’ “Resurrection Man” and Winterbottom’s “I Want You.” Winterbottom will shoot his latest pic while simultaneously doing post-production on “Old, New, Borrowed, Blue,” an Ulster romantic comedy backed by Film Four and Miramax.

Kismet’s Camarda is also in post on another recently shot London pic, “This Year’s Love,” directed by Frank Kane and also starring Ian Hart.
