Filmproduktions GmbH to be headed by Geike
BERLIN — Warner Bros. has announced the establishment of a production arm in Germany, Warner Bros. Filmproduktions GmbH, which plans to co-produce feature films together with independent German partners.
Five projects are in the works, including two pics from director Thomas Jahn (“Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”) — “Kai Rabe gegen die Vatikankiller,” a co-production with Prima Joint Venture, and “Nachts im Park,” a co-production with Delta Media. Warner is also co-producing Rainer Kaufmann’s “The Long Hello and Short Goodbye” with Studio Hamburg, Nick Lyon’s “I Love You Baby” with Zeitsprung, and animated pic “Tobias Totz” with Eberhard Junkersdorff’s Munich Animation.
The new production company will be headed up by Wilfried Geike, managing director of Warner Bros.’ German and Austrian distribution arm.
