LONDON — Gary Busey, Miranda Richardson and Ice T are starring in the kidpic “Jacob Two Two Meets the Hooded Fang,” which started shooting in Toronto earlier this month.
The film, based on Mordecai Richler’s classic children’s adventure story, is directed by George Bloomfield. It also stars Mark McKinney, Maury Chaykin and Max Morrow as the 6-year-old Jacob Two Two.
When Jacob is convicted by a singing judge (Ice T) for being rude to an adult, he is sentenced to Slimers Island Children’s Prison, run by the evil Hooded Fang (Busey). Richardson and McKinney play his villainous sidekicks.
The film is produced by Christina Jennings and Greg Dummett, with Christopher Figg of Noel Gay Prods. and Michael Donovan serving as exec producers. London-based North and South Film are handling worldwide sales, with Cineplex Odeon distributing the pic in Canada.
