Seventh Art nabs ‘Nudity’

Docu details B-movie industry

Seventh Art Releasing has acquired North American rights to the pic “Some Nudity Required,” a 1998 Sundance fest documentary about the B-movie industry directed, produced and scored by Odette Springer.

Pic explores sex and violence in the B-movie industry, focusing on the exploitation of women in cinema. Springer formerly worked for venerable B-movie producer Roger Corman.

The movie includes clips and interviews with B-movie stars such as Julie Strain and Maria Ford, and covers the early careers of mainstream players Jack Nicholson, Ron Howard and Francis Ford Coppola.

“Nudity” will have its L.A. debut in the Los Angeles Intl. Women’s Film Festival on Sunday.
