Scott ready for ‘Mission’

'Ever' actor to join Woo-helmed sequel

British thesp Dougray Scott, currently onscreen opposite Drew Barrymore in 20th Century Fox’s “Ever After: A Cinderella Story,” is close to a deal to play a more sinister role in Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible” sequel.

Scott has been tapped to play a villain in the John Woo-helmed followup to the successful 1996 Tom Cruise starrer.

The pic, based loosely on the 1960s TV show, is being produced by Cruise/Wagner Prods., as was the first feature. The original pic’s cast members Cruise and Ving Rhames are expected to return for the second installment.

Scott’s previous screen credits include Par’s “Deep Impact” and Kevin Allen’s 1997 black comedy “Twin Town.”

Neither Paramount nor Scott’s reps at UTA could be reached for comment.
