Norman Reedus is in negotiations to star with James Marsden (“Disturbing Behavior”) in Warner Bros.’ “Gossip,” helmed by Davis Guggenheim and produced by Robert Newmyer and Jeffrey Silver of Outlaw Prods. and Joel Schumacher.
Scripted by Greg Poirier, Roger Kumble and Theresa Rebeck, “Gossip” is about a group of college undergrads who are given an assignment to plant a piece of gossip. The result spins so far out of control that a young man is falsely accused of a rape and the victim kills herself.
Reedus would star as a strange science major who looks up to a charismatic pre-law major (Marsden).
Next month, Reedus — who made his feature debut in Dimension Films’ “Mimic” — will begin lensing Troy Duffy’s indie “Boondock Saints,” which co-stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Willem Dafoe.
In addition to a cameo in Schumacher’s recently wrapped “8 Millimeter,” Reedus has credits that include the indies “Floating,” “Dark Harbor,” “Six Ways to Sunday” and “Let the Devil Wear Black.”
He is represented by ICM, manager Ed Goldstone and attorney Karl Austen.
Marsden, who starred in ABC’s drama series “Second Noah,” co-stars in MGM’s July 24 release, “Disturbing Behavior.”
