Old Vic to host Euro pic nods

Culture ministers on roster

LONDON — London’s legendary Old Vic theater has been confirmed as the venue for this year’s European Film Awards, to take place Dec. 4.

This will be 11th edition of the awards, but only the second since the ceremony was revamped and re-launched in an attempt by the new regime at the European Film Academy to broaden the appeal of the awards and make them more representative of the full range of Euro moviemaking.

Culture ministers from the U.K., France, Italy and Spain are expected to attend, and the 1,000-seat theater has already been sold out to the event’s corporate backers.

The event will be followed by a dinner and party in Battersea Park.
