NEW YORK — Ernest Dickerson’s “Blind Faith” was named the best feature, and Tim Loane’s “Dance, Lexie, Dance” was voted best short at the third annual Nantucket Film Festival, which wrapped June 21.
Produced by Nick Gallo, Mace Neufeld, Robert Rehme and Steven Lovejoy for Showtime Networks, “Faith” tells the story of a black lawyer who defends his nephew against murder charges.
Pic stars Courtney B. Vance, Charles S. Dutton, Lonette McKee and Kadeem Hardison.
“Dance” was produced by World Prods. Set in Northern Ireland, the 15-minute film follows the struggles of a widowed factory worker and his daughter, who wants to become a dancer.
The Tony Cox Screenwriting Award, named for the late Showtime exec, went to Susan DeMasi for her script, “Dysfunction Junction.”
