Munich group sets pic fund

BERLIN — Munich-based film fund Hollywood Partners is investing 36 million marks ($20 million) in international productions. The fund expects to collect and invest an additional $31 million by the end of the year.

Hollywood Partners has co-produced pics such as German-lingo drama “Obsession” and Carlos Saura’s “Tango.”

German producer Kurt Silberschneider is currently negotiating future projects with U.S. producers.

Hollywood Partners plans to open a branch office in Los Angeles in the coming weeks, and will launch a distribution arm in Germany in October.
