John Hannah, the Scottish-brogued thesp who delivered W. H. Auden so well in “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” has inked to co-star with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in Universal’s fright pic remake “The Mummy.”
Hannah will play Weisz’s brother in what is his first major-studio production. He is due out next month opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in “Sliding Doors.”
Other credits include “The James Gang,” “Resurrection Man,” “The Innocent Sleep,” “Madagascar Skin,” “Harbour Beat” and “Drugstone Cowboy.”
Hannah’s deal was brokered by the William Morris Agency and attorney Fred Teczek. He also is repped by manager Laurie Gilbert.
