Don Most, best remembered as Ralph Malph on “Happy Days,” has followed the lead of former co-star Ron Howard into the world of film direction with the indie feature “The Last Best Sunday.”

Pic, produced by Michael Murphey (“Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”) and scripted by Karen Kelly (“Poison Ivy: New Seduction”), stars Independent Spirit Award-nominated thesp Douglas Spain (“Star Maps”) as a Mexican-American teenager who flees a group of racist thugs and ends up holding a girl hostage in her home.

The independently financed film is currently shooting and has not yet been picked up by a distrib.

Most will soon be seen under Howard’s direction as a television exec in “Ed TV.”
