LONDON — Miramax Films has joined Film Four to co-produce Michael Winterbottom’s romantic comedy “Old New Borrowed Blue,” which started shooting June 22.
Miramax will take North American rights to the pic, with Film Four handling the rest of the world. The deal mirrors the partnership between the two companies on Winterbottom’s “Welcome to Sarajevo.”
“Old New Borrowed Blue” is set in Northern Ireland and stars Christopher Eccleston, Dervla Kirwan and Yvan Attal. It’s a romantic triangle about a woman who is about to get married to her longtime boyfriend when the French penpal of her teenage years, whom she never met, turns up out of the blue.
Scripted by John Forte, the pic is produced by Winterbottom’s regular partner, Andrew Eaton, for their Revolution Films shingle.
