MegaSystems opens theater

Gatlinburg large-format screen showing 'Everest'

MegaSystems, a provider of products and services for the large-format film industry, has opened its first MegaTheater.

Located in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the new theater seats 690 people and is currently showing MacGillivray Freeman Films’ “Everest.”

Waiting in the wings is MegaSystems’ “Olympic Glory,” the first large-format film about the Winter Olympic Games. Produced and distributed by MegaSystems, the film will premiere Jan. 21, 1999, and is exec produced by Kathleen Kennedy and co-produced by Frank Marshall and Scott Swofford.

The film, which covers the XVIII Winter Olympic Games, is directed by Keith Merrill and scripted by Thomas Keneally.
